About Us
The Erotic Authors Association is an organization for writers of erotic literature and erotica that was founded in 2000. More information is available about the organization's administration and founders.
The EAA's members include authors of fiction, poetry, drama, and nonfiction. The members work in a variety of genres of erotic literature and erotica – for example, heterosexual, GLBT, genre literature such as science fiction, leather/BDSM/fetish, original slash and femslash, yaoi and yuri, and erotic romance.
The EAA also includes professionals and organizations that work with erotic writings or erotic authors.
Member Benefits
- Members are listed at this Website, along with relevant links.
- They receive the EAA administrative announcements e-mail newsletter.
- They have the option of joining a members-only discussion forum.
- They may post at a public blog for announcements of new releases, calls for submission, and other member news.
How to Join
Membership is free and is currently open until 30th November after which it will close until 1st May 2010
Authors
This category of membership is for authors of erotic writings. Authors must have had their writings published or self-published in print, electronically, on the Internet, in audio or video format, or have had their writings performed.
Email the Director, Erastes with the following information: -
- Name you want to be called in EAA. This can be your legal name or a pen name.
- Your age. (Mandatory - You must be at least 18 to join, if you are found to give a false age statement you will be removed from the Association and not eligible for re-joining when of age.)
- Your primary e-mail.
- Your back-up e-mail. (In case your primary one changes or fails.)
- Erotic genres you work in. (This will be posted on the Member Websites page.)
- Non-erotic genres you work in, if you feel they'd be of interest to erotica readers.
- Links to your most recent writings or (if links are not available) other information on your writing. If your work hasn't been published yet, please provide evidence of upcoming publication or other professional activity. (This is MANDATORY for Author Membership. If you don't provide links, information on your writing, or evidence of upcoming publication/professional activity, your application will be rejected.)
- Miscellaneous information, if any. This includes links to websites, blogs, e-mail lists, etc.
Professionals
This category is for non-author professionals who work with erotic writings or erotic authors, including – but not limited to – agents, attorneys, editors, illustrators, librarians, reviewers, and teachers. (Professionals whose works are online or self-published are welcome to apply.)
Email the Director, Erastes with the following information: -
- Name you want to be called in EAA. This can be your legal name or a screen name.
- Your age. (Mandatory - You must be at least 18 to join, if you are found to give a false age statement you will be removed from the Association and not eligible for re-joining when of age.)
- Your primary e-mail.
- Your back-up e-mail. (In case your primary one changes or fails.)
- Erotic genres you work in. (This will be posted on the Member Websites page.)
- Non-erotic genres you work in, if you feel they'd be of interest to erotica readers.
- Information on the nature of your work with erotic writings or erotic authors, along with any relevant links. (This is MANDATORY for Non-Author Professional Membership. If you don't provide information on the nature of your work, your application will be rejected.)
- Miscellaneous information, if any. This includes links to websites, blogs, e-mail lists, etc.
Corporate Members
This category is for organizations that work with erotic writings or erotic authors, including – but not limited to – bookstores, magazines and e-zines, presses, and writers' forums.
Please provide information on the nature of your organization's work with erotic writings or erotic authors, along with any relevant links. Please also provide your title within the organization.
Email the Director, Erastes with the following information: -
- Name you want to be called in EAA. This can be your legal name or a screen name.
- Your age. (Mandatory - You must be at least 18 to join, if you are found to give a false age statement you will be removed from the Association and not eligible for re-joining when of age.)
- Your title, if any, within the organization.
- Your primary e-mail.
- Your back-up e-mail. (In case your primary one changes or fails.)
- Erotic genres you work in. (This will be posted on the Member Websites page.)
- Non-erotic genres you work in, if you feel they'd be of interest to erotica readers.
- Information on the nature of your organization's work with erotic writings or erotic authors, along with any relevant links. (This is MANDATORY for Corporate Members. If you don't provide information on the nature of your organization's work, your application will be rejected.)
- Miscellaneous information, if any. This includes links to websites, blogs, e-mail lists, etc.
